Homemade Tempura

It's rare to find Japanese Tempura to where we live in unless you go to lunch/dinner buffets. Hubby and I were craving for tempura and what a much cost effective way to do it is to make one at home. We hope you enjoy this easy and simple recipe. Removing the shrimp's shells and bones may be quite tedious and takes a while to do it but it is definitely worth it.

Ingredients:

½ kilo shrimp

Panko bread crumbs

2 cups All Purpose Flour

2 pcs egg

Cooking Oil for deep frying

Salt

Chili powder (optional)

Dipping Sauce:

Ketchup

Mayonnaise

Hot Sauce

How to prepare:

Shrimp

1. Remove the shrimp’s skin and bone.

2. Straighten the shrimp to create a tempura.

2. Marinate with salt, pepper and chili powder.

Breading Mixture

1. On a bowl, pour in flour and season with salt and pepper.

2. On a separate bowl, beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper.

3. On a separate bowl, pour in the Panko bread crumbs

Making the Tempura
