An alternative to Pork Sisig
Our own version of Chicken Sisig. A #weekendespesyal meal where #thehubbychef and I cooked together.
I got this recipe from panlasangpinoy.com but did minor revisions. Here’s how to create this dish:
Ingredients:
½ kilo chicken breast, marinated with salt and pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
Oil for frying
Pepper
Pepper flakes
Salt
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Chillies (red and green), sliced
½ cup butter
1 ½ tbsp Soy Sauce
2 small onions, diced
To cook:
1. Heat oil in pan and fry both sides of the chicken breast until brown. (You can grill the chicken breast if you like) Remove from heat and slice them into small pieces.
2. Leave about a tbsp of oil in a pan, and sautee the onions until soft.
3. Add the diced chicken breast and mix. Let it cook for 2 min.
4. Add the soy sauce and garlic powder and stir until well blended.
5. Add a dash of pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste, stir and let it cook for 2 minutes.
6. Add the mayonnaise and stir until well blended. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring occasionally.
Set aside.
On a sizzling plate, melt butter. As the butter melts, put the chicken sisig you set aside earlier. Top it off with red and green chillies. You can an egg on top as well if you like. Serve it while it’s sizzling.
Boo and I didn’t have a sizzling plate, so we used a teflon pan instead. Also you can use margarine in case butter is not available.
Enjoy!!!
